1912 STILTON AND CREAMY MUSHROOMS ON TOAST

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough
  • 1912 Stilton cheese, crumbled
  • 10g butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Small bunch of fresh thyme, stalks removed
  • 200g of mushrooms (portobello, chestnut, wild) chopped
  • 50ml cream
  • Salt and pepper

Indulge in a timeless delicacy with our 1912 Stilton and Creamy Mushrooms on Toast for breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner! This classic dish features a delectable blend of rich, creamy Stilton cheese paired with sautéed mushrooms, served atop perfectly toasted bread for a satisfyingly savoury experience.

Method

  1. Melt the butter in a pan, when hot, add the mushrooms and cook on a fairly high heat to remove the moisture and char.

 

  1. Near the end of the cooking of the mushrooms, add the grated garlic cloves and cook for another 30 seconds

 

  1. Next add the cream and give it a good stir, crumble some 1912 Stilton on top.

 

  1. Toast the sourdough slices and butter generously.

 

  1. Top the sourdough with the cooked mushrooms, finish with more crumbled 1912 Stilton and fresh thyme

 

  1. Season and enjoy.
